MyBaby4Me: Nashville’s Exciting New Program for Mothers and Children

MyBaby4Me Nashville is Saving Lives

MyBaby4Me is a zip code-focused, community-based intervention program with a primary objective of lowering infant mortality rates in communities where there is substantial disparity in infant and maternal mortality between the target zip code and surrounding area. Secondary objectives include improving mothers’ and children’s lives and strengthening families to overcome generational poverty. The program is sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, an established community non-profit organization.

The Church supplies, at no cost, a married senior volunteer couple with health care experience and an established curriculum for teaching safe-pregnancy and safe infant and early childcare. The program is created around a structure of twice-weekly gatherings where children and significant others are welcome. MyBaby4Me educates, reassures, and inspires mothers from the most challenging backgrounds that they can fulfill the measure of their creationm and find joy and happiness in motherhood.

Your Support is Crucial!

The success of MyBaby4Me depends on the support of Church members. Each of the twice-weekly gatherings requires a minimum of four members to help the MyBaby4Me missionary couple. Members who volunteer will assist by helping watch children. Volunteers can also help by assisting in cleaning the facility after use. Volunteers can include young singles, single adults, young men, young women, Relief Society members, Elders quorums members, and families. Those helping should feel free to reach out to non-member friends, neighbors, and associates to join with them in providing this assistance. Full-time proselyting and service missionaries may also participate.

How Can I Volunteer My Time?

The Franklin Stake has been asked to provide volunteer babysitting every Thursday from 11AM to 1PM during the educational meetings. Open dates are listed in the SignUpGenius link below:

Please feel free to reach out to Beth Palombo, MyBaby4Me Coordinator for the Franklin TN Stake, at (615-4seven4-79one1) with any additional questions.

How Can I Contribute Resources?

Another way to help with this program is by donating items for a layette for the expectant mothers.  The Amazon registry below can be used to order items that will then be sent to Beth Palombo’s home and then taken to the MyBaby4Me missionary couple to distribute to the mothers in need.

See here for a list of the layette items, in case you would like to purchase or order items from a different resource.
